Wine Festivities for June

On June 1^st, the dining room at the Tara Club House was festooned with big, bright, colorful tissue paper flowers (many, many flowers),a perfect backdrop for the SLV Wine Club “TAPAS” dinner.  The menu was spectacularly crafted by SLV Executive Chef Wendell Brewster and served by his outstanding staff.  Each Tapas course was designed to showcase a different Spanish wine chosen by the hosting committee.  Simply put, Spanish Tapas are small plates of food served with a drink that encourages fun and socializing with friends.  Certainly the case on that Friday night!  Also highlighting the Spanish theme, Fred and Angelina Richter dazzled the crowd with a sultry dance exhibition of the Tango!

Prior to the start of the festivities, President Pat Ouellette conducted the annual business meeting.  Some modifications to the bylaws were approved and the slate of new trustees and officers for the 2012-2013 season were announced.  Elected new trustees are: Garry and Barbara Kline, Russ and Betsy Griffeth, Chas and Melly Meyer, Glen and Ari Ridgeway.  Officers to serve in the upcoming year are: President Paul Aube, Vice President Chas Meyer, Treasurer Tom Huber, and Secretary Melly Meyer.  Pat also thanked all out going trustees and officers for guiding the club through fun times over the past year.
