Real Estate, South Carolina.
Bob and Theresa Bryan
Hi there, this is Bob and Theresa Bryan. We moved to the area 25 years ago. I am from Minnesota and Bob is from Stillwater Oklahoma. While contemplating a move South, both of us were afraid to move where we had never been before, but we changed our attitudes and concluded it would be an adventure. If we decided we did not like it, we knew there was always the option to move again. Well, we loved it in McCormick, SC and I know we will never move away. It has changed our lives and everyday you can hear us say “We are so Blessed!” And what better career to have than Real Estate, we get to show people our beautiful area on a daily basis, and often get so excited when they purchase property, knowing that they too will soon be living their dreams here in South Carolina. Michael Sherard
Hello, my name is Michael Sherard and I am lifelong resident of this area growing up just 20 miles from SLV. I was the first agent hired by the developer Cooper Communities back on April 1, 1989. I was the salesman for the first lot sold on that date and have been helping families find their building lot or dream home ever since. I have to admit that the first buyer at SLV was my father and mother, Frank and Dorothy Sherard. My mother (Dot) is now my licensed assistant. See her profile below. April 1, 2012, SLV is 23 years old and I have watched this village go from a wooded national forest to a thriving vibrant community. I have a lot of knowledge about SLV, its lots and most all of the homes. I also have put together a pamphlet called “Places to go and Things to do” that gives you history, restaurant recommendations and directions to all the towns around SLV. Contact me or the office for a copy. Lastly I am of the opinion that Savannah Lakes Village sells itself. Our beautiful lake, our prices & the wonderful people that live here make SLV the best retirement/vacation community you will find. To see all about our area go to www.scgolflake.com/ms I hope you will give me a chance to show you. Sincerely, Michael Sherard 864-379-4565 Email @ slvsherard@gmail.com
Gayle Sheffield
Hi, my name is Gayle Sheffield. I moved to Savannah Lakes Village along with my husband, Alan, in 1996. We were not of “retirement age” then (just 48 and 50 yrs. Old), but were tired of the rat-race, traffic and pollution of the “big city.” We both were able to move our jobs to Savannah Lakes and continue working “remotely.” [We had ‘dial-up’ then!!] I was working as a “Software Support Technician” for a Small Business Accounting Software Program. My in-home office overlooked the 15th Fairway of the Tara Golf Course. After only a few months of being “stuck indoors”, I decided to “Break Out! I was asked by a local real estate company and builder to get my real estate license and begin helping them bring new residents to Savannah Lakes Village. I was delighted to have the opportunity to share my love for Savannah Lakes Village and the surrounding area, and to help potential new residents with their search for the perfect “Retirement Destination!” I have been working in real estate in and around Savannah Lakes Village and McCormick County for almost 16 years, and have been named “Top Producer” several times. I feel so fortunate to have been able to “Live the Retirement Dream” for all these years without actually having to wait to retire. My husband and I have 4 children and 5 beautiful, healthy, and active grand-children. I have a BS in Business & Management from The State University of New York at Old Westbury, as well as, my Brokers License. We enjoy spending our free time on our beautiful Lake Thurmond, playing golf, and socializing with all our “new” friends. If I can help you with any of your real estate needs or if you have any questions about Savannah Lakes Village or McCormick County, give me a call on my cell phone, 864-378-0777 or send an email to: Gayles@wctel.net Go to our website to see more about Savannah Lakes Village and McCormick County – SCGolfLake.com
Judy Beck
My name is Judy Beck. Warren and I found this beautiful lake and golf community 20 years ago. Not yet ready for retirement, but we knew that retiring on a large, clean, clear lake, with two championship golf courses was the place we wanted to be. We were the 37th home to be built…it was a leap of faith, but it all paid off. We can not imagine being anywhere else. The lake is the largest, east of the Mississippi and the golf courses are challenging yet fun to play. Although we both were working when we move here, Warren in the textile industry, and I was in home construction and selling real estate in Savannah Lakes Village, we knew this was the right decision for us. Warren has now retired and says he doesn’t know when he had time to work. It’s a wonderful, friendly place to live. Nature is in our back yard every day. It’s like no other place you could live. To enjoy boating, swimming, and fishing and the next day play golf on one of two pristine golf courses, it “IS” the way to retire. And, it is one of the most affordable communities to retire. Please come for a visit and let me show you the beautiful side of retirement. Dot Sherard
Hi, I’m Dot Sherard. I was born and reared in the foothills of Oconee County on the banks of the Keowee River, Cherokee Indian Country! I left to attend Lander College (now University) in Greenwood and that is where I met my husband to be, Frank Sherard. He was in the family business in Calhoun Falls, so that is where we settled, reared four sons and now our family numbers twenty one. Twenty two years ago my husband encouraged me to take the real estate course as he was a Broker. With trepidation I did just that. The Sherard Family’s ancestors, the French Huguenots, settled in what is now a large part of Savannah Lakes Village, so we have always had a connection to McCormick County. As Michael stated in his bio, we bought the first lot on April 1, 1989. Some eight years ago Michael asked that I come into his office to help him catch up on back work which I thought would be a couple of days. Of course I am still around, very familiar with the area and over those years I have had the chance to meet and get to know so many of the residents of Savannah Lakes Village. I hope you will call me if I can be of service – 864-443-2221.
