May Fishing Report
CLARKS HILL IS DOWN .7 FEET, 73 DEGREES & STAINED
Bass fishing is fair but the bite is a struggle. Use baits like the McStick in the shad pattern and #13 silver Rapala’s all day. The grass mats are just on the surface and growing. Bass are in some of the mats and fishing the edges with the Scatter Shad Rap and plastic lizards can work. The majority of the bass seem to be relating to water in the 5 to 8 foot range. On the crank bait, add some Storm Suspend Strips on the bottom and make the bait sink with the right number of strips. This will get the baits deeper than the rest of the anglers that are suing the same bait. Use a medium to fast retrieve to get the best action from the bait. Wind blown points still seem to be a favorite place this week. Watch the boats and keep moving until you bet bit.
