To the Staff and Residents of Savannah Lakes Village,
My name is Harrison Brink, and I just finished competing in the 14th annual Savannah Lakes Village Classic. I am writing to express my sincerest gratitude for the hospitality, hard work, and enthusiasm that was shown by your community this past week. Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to meet and talk with everyone who will hopefully be reading this letter, but I can assure you all that your neighbors put an incredible foot forward in welcoming me and my fellow professionals.
I only recently became a member of the Swing Thought Tour this past October, having graduated college in the spring of 2015, and the transition (solitary travel, competition, etc.) has been a mixed bag for me. But the genuinely supportive environment I found myself in at SLV introduced me to everything that is positive about professional golf. I cannot thank you all enough for every minute you dedicated to this event, whether it be hosting, volunteering, shuttling or spectating.
When I look back on this week in years to come, as I undoubtedly will do, I believe I’ll remember two key realizations that you all have contributed: one, that professional golf, at any level, is as much about performing, entertaining, and giving back as it is about scoring; and two, that the impact of the total number of smiles, handshakes, and hugs far outweighs figures like greens hit and putts made.
It is difficult to thank you enough, but I promise I’ll do my best when I see you all next year.
