Moonlight Cruise

The Thurmond Lake Sail and Power Squadron will host a community Moonlight Cruise on Monday, June 20, the night of the June full moon. The Southern Performance Boats will be holding a 800 Ft. Boat Drag Racing event at Hickory Knob’s Cove on August 10, 2013, between the hours of 12:00 PM and 5:30 PM. A Bald Eagle From my Kitchen Window!

What a Great Day! Lake Talk

Talk about a magnificent week-end. My husband, myself, along with another couple were out on the lake  Sunday, March 18, as well as our two small dogs. Summertime in March, can you imagine. Anyway, we had found an island just north of Elijah Clarke State Park last year and decided to give it a visit. We liked the island because  we could take our dogs and let them run!  We had called it “Dog Island.” […] 

Kayaking

This year I am determined to learn how to kayak. Is there anyone out there who knows of anyone who gives lessons? They would also have to have a kayak for me to use. I am not sure I want to invest in one until I know I can do it. I am always out on the lake and see folks kayaking.
