While working at my kitchen sink this afternoon, I looked out of the window and saw a Bald Eagle land on the bank, just across the cove from our dock. There are folks who have never seen a Bald Eagle in the wild, and here I am looking at one out my kitchen window! I took a picture of this magnificent specimen from my kitchen with a telephoto. Not a great picture, but at least I got something. All this, just after I had encountered a Doe with a newborn fawn while walking my dogs at noon time. Little thing could barely walk and I knew Mama would defend it if necessary, so we walked slowly past. Mama kept a very close eye on us! What a paradise we have here on Lake Thurmond!

Last week of June as we were boating on Little River with friends we were fortunate to see a Bald Eagle up close and personal perched in a tree. He was busy observing and very uninterested in our spying him. He stayed in our vision and we saw him fly away. Spectacular!
